1-1 Tutoring

Grades 4-12

Work together 1-1 with a highly qualified teacher experienced in providing help for dyscalculia and other math learning challenges, such as dysgraphia, ADHD, and dyslexia.

All students can learn math—yes even yours!

At this time, we are taking new clients for 1-1 tutoring.

A comprehensive plan to address their individual math needs

I know that each child is unique.

I will work to understand the way that they think and understand the world so that I can help them learn math.

A diagnosis of dyscalculia (and/or dysgraphia) does not limit what is possible for your child.

Confidence

I teach my students about what it means to be good at math—and that includes many things they are probably already good at!

I show them how to use their strengths to compensate for their weaknesses. And then pretty soon, those weaknesses get stronger, too!

I support my students as they find confidence that helps them build more confidence.

Courage to take a risk

When a child feels like they aren’t good at math, they aren’t even willing to take the risk to try because they feel that they’re just going to fail. It’s just going to be more proof that they’re BAD AT MATH.

I help them find the courage to take a risk.

Reduced math anxiety

Math anxiety comes from feeling confused, embarrassed, and intimidated by math.

I teach my students how to learn math so that they can reduce their math anxiety.

Hope for a different future

Math doesn’t have to be painful. Math doesn’t have to be a source of frustration.

Together, I will show you a future where math is not the enemy.

1-1 Tutoring

If your child needs the individualized 1-1 attention of an educator experienced with dyscalculia, then 1-1 tutoring might be the best fit for you. This school year long program includes 32 sessions over the course of 10 months. We will have 2-3 parent huddles where we will discuss progress, goals, and expectations moving forward. In order to facilitate the best possible experience, I will provide a digital drawing tablet if you do not have one as a welcome gift!
